3/14/2024 0 Comments Ssl duende hardwareI have the Slate Grey SSL bus clone, but i don't usually bother trying it - the Duende Bus Comp is 'fine', I suppose.ĭrumstrip is indeed good, the subharmonic enhancer is great on kicks that are bass light (or you wish you'd recorded with a Yamaha sub kick) I'd imagine the Glue is better, but I haven't tried it. I still use the SSL Bus Comp when i stay ITB (i have a real SSL Bus comp), but I did wish it could have an update (oversampling, 4K mode, etc) - I'm quite sure it will never get one, though. But it was always a utility thing for me, and so I just use the slate one (although there's no LPF) The filters sound great and the high end boost sounded nice (although not as nice as when it was DSP based). i did always quite like the SSL Channel Strip, though. Having SSL the EQs in Slate VMR has stopped me using the SSL Channel strip.
